Etape Caledonia May 2011

A huge thanks to Scott and Leigh MacFarlane for raising £1485 at Etape Caledonia.

An 81 mile cycle challenge taking place on traffic free roads in Perthshire, this year's Etape Caledonia took place on Sunday 15th May. Leigh explains how the team got on:

"We had hardly any sleep the night before at our hotel in Pitlochry as I was so on edge and Scott had such a bad cold we though he almost wouldn't be able to do it!  We had to get up at 5am for a starting time of 6.59am and needed to have our porridge first!

"Thank goodness there was hardly any rain and no punctures or crashes. Scott's official time was 5 hours and 1 minute. My time at the moment reads DNF, did not finish although I most certainly did! My chip was knocked off in a near crash with Scott at the 70 mile mark. - and I actually completed about 2 seconds in front of Scott.

"I'm so proud of our medals and also of our friends who cycled with us. Thanks to everyone who donated on my Just Giving page. The sore bottom the next day was totally worth it!"
