About Our Charity

The charity was set up in 2004 to purchase advanced powered wheelchairs, not currently available on the NHS, for children and young people with neuromuscular disorders attending Yorkhill's Fraser Of Allander Unit.

Neuromuscular disorders are progressive in nature, where a child may typically be become wheelchair dependant from the age of eight. As that child grows their condition will progress and often lead to an early death. Our objective is to keep the children as comfortable as possible for as long as possible; to increase their independence and to provide a better quality of life for them and their families.
